Zebra Printer Test Pages & Diagnostics

Zebra specializes in thermal barcode and industrial label printers. Traditional inkjet/laser color tests do not apply. Diagnostics focus on thermal printhead heat, label calibration, and dark-level adjustments.

Common Zebra Issue Clusters

  • Vertical Blank Lines (Label Axis): A permanent white stripe down a printed label means a thermal element on the printhead has burned out, or there is adhesive residue on the element. Clean the head with an alcohol pen. If the line remains, the printhead needs replacement.
  • Label Skipping (Red Light): The printer is failing to detect the label gap. You must run the physical ‘Media Calibration’ sequence.
  • Faded Print (Too Light): Adjust the ‘Darkness’ or ‘Burn Temperature’ setting in the Zebra Setup Utilities.
