OKI Data devices are unique. They use LED technology instead of traditional lasers for standard printing, and are famous for their specialty graphic arts models featuring White and Neon toner.
Common OKI Issue Clusters
- LED Head Cleaning: Because OKI uses an LED array across the drum, vertical white lines almost always mean there is toner dust on the LED lenses. Wipe the LED array with a dry lint-free cloth.
- Fuser Crinkle on Heavy Media: OKI devices handle heavy cardstock, but the fuser temperature must be manually set in the driver to ‘Heavy’ or ‘Labels’ to prevent toner flaking and page crinkling.
- Specialty Toner Swaps: Contamination when swapping White/Clear toner stations. Run a blank page between swaps.
